Gratitude.

How many times a day do you sit down and thank?
Okay wait, how many times a week or month probably?
Well honestly, my answer to that would be once in a blue moon or maybe never.

Today somehow, feelings and things changed for me, oh yes!
I randomly accompanied my friend who's a part of this scenario to assist these children thinking I would make some good use of my time but as they say, there's so much more than what meets the eye.
Traveling to Govandi which is basically NewBombay and real far away from where I stay was a pain but once I got there, I came across them, they're shinning eyes, smiling away eagerly waiting for us.
Well in the beginning they all were a little reluctant to speak but it was a matter of a few minutes to break the ice.

The organization is called AIESEC which organizes exchange programs and large workshops for the underprivileged.

The Students :)

Meeting them was an absolute pleasure not because you realize how lucky you are but because of their starry eyes, wandering, making the best of what they have.
It was a pleasure not because you suddenly feel guilty for haven fought with your parents over a dress/gadget but because while handing them new pencils and erasers they say in their mellow voice, "Tank You Didi"
A pleasure because they're so enthusiastic about drawing something so simple, with complete focus that at every step they ask you, "Yeh thik lagta hai Didi?" (How does this look Didi?)

Craft Work

Forget them never, for they too yearn for knowledge.
They look for happiness in the smallest places and have the biggest smiles, unlike us.
Behind those eyes, you see a little hurt and pain.
Eager minds because they deserve to be enveloped in knowledge.
A must..

And somewhere inside my chaotic mind every little problem seemed actually so 'little'.

Vaidehi (my friend) assisting them as well!

After their work one small boy dances to the tunes of Justin Beiber, yes you read that right!
He knew the entire song by heart and did some pretty cool break dancing.
Wow, the talent! A little support and encouragement can make a huge impact on these little souls, or maybe a lot. You never know.

On my ride back, the sense of gratitude took over me because this so called feeling makes you feel so good about yourself and about everything around you that suddenly any problem that was bothering you for long seems like nothing.
Sometimes all it takes is a little 'thinking' about the good and in less than a minute a smile appears across your face. This memory and experience will be etched in my heart.
You need to see them to believe it, their budding talents are no less than anyone else's!
