Fiction Series - Story Six

He had been her companion, perhaps the only one.
The nights where doubts created a place in her mind, he faded them undoubtedly with subtlety in his words and eyes filled with perfection.

The days where havoc just didn't seem to lose sight of her , he came around and made one moment right for her , for awhile, lasting enough.
The walls she build around her heart agreeably broke down with his coming in.

Love, felt and thrived equally between them lifting them away to another journey where only the outlines of his smile and her loud laughter resided.
Hope.
They lived because of this, for this.

Events in life took a sudden misfortunate turn but he was there.
With her, at every step, every block, every yard, every street, every breath, around her.

He didn't think of her craziness to be vague, he didn't think of her rattling to be jabbers. He heard them, heard them all.
Finally he heard about his limited time.
Kisses, comfort, love, lust, cries and smiles.
He slipped away gracefully leaving nothing but him in her heart.

Looking at his picture frame, her ordeal and state of mind had nothing to do with the world, only him. She broke down silently because sometimes that was all that was left to do and breathed in every moment , tears flowing down , reminiscing.

Because indeed he had been there for her all the time. However, not anymore.
Oh sweet love, if only life was long.

Fiction Series : Story Four

                                                                            THE GUSH

A lot has been said and a lot has been done.
The morning fights and arguments, constantly.
The bitter words and silent stares, aggressively.
The fading love and pretense care, periodically.
She grew up learning that true love was a myth, a myth so true that she wondered why people around her even believed in phrases like ‘happily ever afters’
Isolating herself over the years , she wondered if companionship was even an applicable word by itself.
She refrained from anything that brought her uttermost happiness because even in the state of her happiest feeling she almost believed that it was a dream, a trick by the universe, teasing her with happiness.
She thought miracles, smiles and tinkles were an alien concept because all she had connected with was despair, grieve and grudge.

How could she believe in happily ever afters when her parents were a solid example of a proven broken marriage?
How could she attain companionship or the security of confiding in somebody when her only friend had slipped away, far from this universe? Up with the mighty heaven.
How could she even think about happiness when wherever she went she met sadness and then darkness became her only hope since her tears trickled down, achieving salvation.
How could she believe in miracles when life itself had played a game with her , a game so huge where the only thing she could exceed in was failure?

Walking down the beach , scanning the nature around her she wondered about these tiny perfect sand particles. How they just lay there, near the shore waiting for those beautiful waves to take them in with each tide. She watched the huge waves coming towards the shore in constant motion, never befriending, always moving with certainty. She took in the moist smell, the soft breeze touching the contours of her skin, like a friend, she took in the essence of the place. The beach being forever pristine with the sun rising with its warmth and with the sun setting with its fresh air, always serene.
She felt associated with the rock lying around in the corner, 'a rock like heart' and that is what she'd become.

She started to move towards the waves, slowly and steadily with each step she felt as though she had left the world behind, leaving it on its own to carry on its hardships. Another step and she could feel the earth sinking her in. Closing her eyes, the so-called flashback didn’t seem to provide any meaning to her because there just wasn’t any thought to smile upon. And right now, at this point it just felt like the right thing to do, maybe society wouldn’t understand, maybe they would take this act as foolishness but she didn’t care because this same society never understood and never corrected her foolishness. Now it was too late.
Another step , she went sinking.
The waves enveloped her, taking her in with its huge consistency.
Making her finally feel a part of a world, a part of darkness.
One last breath and she dissolved. Into the rush , into the gush.
Into belongingness. Into perfect bliss.

Her Silent Words

< This includes a short story of a girl who has gone through sexual abuse at a very young age. Just a small fiction created by me. The sad part being that any kind of child sexual abuse isn't considered to be a crime in India and at the cost of this many young girls are subject to such treatment. Finally an appeal has been made to the Supreme Court of India regarding the same and let us hope for the best. My inspiration to write this was the new TV show named Satyamev Jayate (hosted by Aamir Khan) that led me to compose this >

My Story

Tender and fragile, she.
She loved the smell of freshly baked cookies and adored the sight of colorful balloons.

Her favorite hobby included sauntering in the garden and running around in her favorite clothing dressed in pink from head to toe.

Little did she know that she was in for a surprise, a surprise that somehow would shock her, in a literal way.

Sitting on the couch with her new pastel colors, she started to gleam.
He entered the hallway as a jolly old fellow who was most respected by her family.
His tall figure enchanted her, a thrill went through her body at seeing him for the first time.

He reached out for her hand which seemed to be in the most loving way and she froze.
No, that touch wasn't soothing or friendly. That touch possessed an overwhelming impish feeling to it.

Unfortunately, every opportunity was seized by him, for the sick-minded man didn't think of this to be wrong at all. During the process,
She became emotionless > How couldn't she cry her heart out when all she wished was someone to pay heed to those tears?

She became numb > How couldn't she move an inch when all she wanted was escapism?

She became unbearably quiet > How couldn't she scream when all she wanted to do was shout till her voice faded so at least somebody noticed that this wasn't her normal behavior?

These feelings left her bemused.

Over time , she mastered the art of stoicism ( feeling of pain without emoting it)
The doings by him was finally put to a halt and when it happened she cursed herself as to why wasn't she defiant earlier?
The physical pain ended, the mentally scarred pain remained.

Everytime she closed her eyes , all she saw was a dark paradise.
The past haunts her occasionally and all she keeps asking is ' Did I deserve this?'
She's left answerless, her emotions are unfelt and all her teary eyes plead is for a happy childhood.
Which amusingly seems like a myth to her because such filthy men are still left loose in this world.
